Who I am

Dr. Wang is a “Double-qualified and Double-abilities” teacher granted by the College of Science & Technology Ningbo University. After receiving his master’s degree in Design Art from Zhejiang University, he attended the College of Science & Technology Ningbo University to service in the teaching and scientific research work of exhibition design. His research focus on new trends, new theories and new methods in the field of exhibition design, and proposing the performance evaluation for designing exhibition based on data collaboration, and the Human-exhibition Interaction (HEI^©) in view of the interactive relationship among exhibition design factors, audience experience factors, audience emotion, and behavior data.

In 2014, he entered the University of Nottingham, and continued his doctoral research in the direction of exhibition design. His PhD dissertation proposal was selected by 2015 CHI Doctoral Consortium (16 PhD candidates elected worldwide), one of the top international academic conferences. It obtained the CHI doctoral scholarship provided by the Human-computer Interaction group of the Association for Computing Machinery and Cornell University, and gained Travel Prize from Graduate School of the University of Nottingham. In 2015, he accepted the invitation letter from Milano Expo, and conducting a 16-days’ field study on 10 national pavilions.

Dr. Wang has over 10 years’ experience in the field of exhibition design through his focused work in practice and in research. In academic area, he has published SSCI-indexed and EI-indexed papers in both international journal and conferences, participated and hosted many various research projects from local universities and enterprises, authorized over 10 national intellectual rights including invention and utility model patents, works’ and computer software copyright; in teaching practice, he was awarded Outstanding Head Teacher twice, gained Outstanding Instructor in Graduation Design and Outstanding Instructor of 6^th International Innovation Design Competition, selected to the course construction project of “13^th Five Year Plan”, and guided students to receive more than 30 national and provincial design awards, national patents and SRIP research projects; in the aspect of design practice, he provided design and management services for many design companies in terms of exhibition projects such as museums and science museums, won more than 10 domestic and international design awards, and actively develops various practical work in terms of exhibition design including research, teaching and social services.
